IBANFix is a free, privacy-first IBAN validation and bank identification service. Whether you're sending an international wire transfer, verifying a payment detail, or building a financial application, IBANFix provides instant, accurate IBAN checking at no cost and with complete privacy.
Our validator performs two checks on every IBAN: first, a format check against the official SWIFT IBAN Registry to ensure the correct length and character structure for the country; second, a MOD-97 mathematical check digit verification that catches transcription errors. An IBAN that passes both checks is structurally valid.
We then cross-reference the bank code extracted from the IBAN against our database of 325+ banks across 76+ countries to identify the issuing financial institution and its BIC/SWIFT code.
Absolutely. IBANFix processes your IBAN entirely in server memory and immediately discards it after returning the result. We do not log, store, share, or analyse any IBAN numbers entered on this site. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
A SWIFT code (also known as a BIC — Bank Identifier Code) is an 8 or 11-character code that uniquely identifies a bank or financial institution worldwide. It is used alongside the IBAN for international transfers, particularly outside the SEPA zone. You can look up SWIFT codes using our SWIFT Finder tool.
